Godard placed 15th for Film Socialisme in 2011.
Phoenix makes his seventh appearance in the top 20, and I'll hold off on him since his eighth is forthcoming. Skarsgård had not been seen since the survey's first full-fledged year, when he placed 14th in the lead category (huh?) for Breaking the Waves (1996). Ms. Blunt I already dealt with when she landed at #20 for Into the Woods. Seigner is new.
Perry's screenplays for Impolex and The Color Wheel did not place, presumably due to their lack of poorly written narration.

Even a rusty Swami Muse is formidable. As a #ViceHead I'm glad that Phoenix has more coming--that guy was something else this year.
That screenplay nod is troubling. I wonder if I'd have reacted different if I'd seen the film before reading Mike's complaints? In any case, Mike is right. That film does many things right, but that narration is a grammar disaster. For good narration, see #InherentVice (Joanna Newsom should be a best supporting contender, come on buds). #notarobot
