HISTORY:

Nolan placed 5th for Memento (2001), 4th for The Prestige (2006), 7th for The Dark Knight (2008), 10th for Inception (2010), and 17th for Interstellar (2014).

Rockwell is the veteran here, making his sixth career appearance since 2002, when he placed 13th in Actor for Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also: 4th for Joshua (2007), 11th for Moon (2009), 16th in Supporting for Seven Psychopaths (2012), and most recently 20th in Supporting for Laggies (2014). Lawrence won Actress in 2010 for Winter's Bone, and has also placed 6th for Silver Linings Playbook (2012) and 5th in Supporting for American Hustle (2013). It took Sandler 15 years to show up again following his 7th-place finish for Punch-Drunk Love (2002). Haddish is new.

Ivory's only previous screenplays during the Skandie era were for A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries and Le Divorce. Neither made the cut.

D'Angelo Effect: This is the lowest my personal favorite for a given year has placed since Everyone Else (#8, 2010). (mother! would have landed 5th rather than 6th had I, or anyone else, allotted it just one additional point, but the previous sentence would still be true had that been the case.)

(The "nominees" post will be up around noon Pacific time.)

It seems mother! is a strong contender for most divisive this year. I'll be curious to see the passiondex on this one.

I mean, you can see it now. 105 divided by 13 = 8.08, which is fairly low. It wound up on the bottom half of a bunch of lists. Maybe you mean the standard deviation rather than the Passiondex.

Yes, I meant the standard deviation. Thanks bud.
