Curious to know last time (if ever) a single film landed as many as 4 #1's. Suppose I could go back and look myself, but too lazy...
Inglourious Basterds won six of the eight categories, to my disgust. (Waltz, sure.)
Looking at the Best Scene also-rans at skandies.org -- shouldn't "Molly Malone" and "Cockles and Mussels" be combined? That would kick "Molly Malone" up to 77/8, moving it from #9 to #7.
I believe you are right, person who wouldn't leave your name.
(By the way, if anybody else sees scenes that ought to be combined, let me know. There are always cases where I think people might be voting for the same scene in a film I didn't see or dimly remember, but unless it looks like combining the points would put it in the top 20, I generally don't ask.)
I too don't get Amy Adams as #1. I like her, and she's good, but her performance doesn't stand out to me in this. What, so she gives a hand job? BEST ACTRESS!
TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE was one of the three or four worst films of the year but her performance there is every bit as good as in THE MASTER. I think she just got swept up in the (appropriate) MASTER love. She's fine, but not the best. (Then again, it's not like Supporting Actress was overrun with great competition this year).
Just going by the data, Adams appears to be the person "everyone" stuck somewhere in their top 10 but not with a lot of enthusiasm. She's the lowest point total of all 8 winners and only had 2 people give her 20 or more points. She probably benefited from what was just (IMHO) a down year for supporting actress in which she emerged as a consensus choice.
When I saw The Master, most of time I was thinking "I want to know more about Amy Adams' character, stop following Phoenix, he's not nearly as interesting."
It was a remarkable performance given how little screen time she's given. I wanted to know so much more about her and that I didn't is the fundamental problem I think I have with the film. It's primarily a character study of a not very interesting character.
Also, thank you Mike (and everyone who voted) for all the work you put in. I am always happy to see the Skandies compiled each year and learn about some of the interesting films I've missed.
A little sad I was the only one who thought THE COLOR WHEEL was top 10 material. Glad the screenplay got some attention though.
I am rather baffled by the Adams love too, and I find it difficult to attribute her success to it being a weak year in the category, given that 6 of my choices didn't place in the top twenty. They were:
Nicole Kidman, The Paperboy
Heather Simms, Red Hook Summer
Lorraine Toussaint, Middle of Nowhere
Bella Heathcote, Not Fade Away
Anna Kendrick, End of Watch
Sally Field, Lincoln
Not sure as I see this as a problem so much as a matter of differing tastes. If the alternative is Judi Dench in Skyfall or Sarah Silverman in Take This Waltz, though, I'm happy with my list...
My skandie overlap in Supporting actress was, for the record, Gershon, Hathaway (TDKR), Hayek, McDormand (Promised Land).
On the other hand, I don't think I voted for Holy Motors anywhere, but it dominating doesn't bother me a bit.
Speaking of Jeremy Heilman (hi Jed), could someone please fix that weird bug where he's been mysteriously absent from the list of Participants for the past couple of years?
And yeah, I also find HOLY MOTORS slightly overrated, but I voted for "Entr'acte" and Carax. The man had a vision - just like the Farrelly Brothers, for whom I also voted.

I am informed that this is not a glitch but the result of Jeremy not submitting ratings since 2009. That section is not optional bud. I'll remind you for next year.
Saddest best supporting actress indictment: if the Amy Adams role had been played by an unknown, it would have been more effective and that unknown would have received less Skandie points. Can't believe all the
Holy Motors peeps left me hanging on Elise Lhomeau, the actress who seemed most captivatingly in on the premise…and all my Elena homies, how could you ignore the sly, decadent daughter played by Elena Lyadova?!
Oops... my bad. I thought that was optional.
At least this has saved me from winning the Alone Again (Naturally) award for at least a few of the last few years. I almost certainly would have won it this year again, with my 4.0 for THE PAPERBOY.
